In a hot summer race in '88, instead of filling his bottles at water stations, Michael Eidson decided to fill an IV bag with water, slip it into a tube sock, stuff it into the back of his jersey, throw the hose over his shoulder and clamp it to his jersey with a clothespin. Hands-free hydration was born. Competitive cyclist Jeff Wemmer soon became a huge fan of the packs Michael created and began bringing them to races to sell. He ended up hiring on in '93 and soon after was selling product from Florida to California from the back of his motorcycle. This conviction and imagination with a bit of faith and courage evolved CamelBak into what you see today. CamelBak continues to re-invent the hydration category as they set out to become the world's leading maker of hydration solutions.
