"Get a grip!" she screamed as she ran out the door and down the driveway, never to be seen again. I have spent many years pondering what she meant that fateful day, and I have finally come to a conclusion: She must have been upset that I had spent so much time caring for my bike but never once had upgraded my bike grips. She must have known how important it is to keep your hands securely in place while riding, and that my lame stock handlebar grips were just not providing the stability I needed. She may be out of my life forever, but my bike never will be, especially now that I have upgraded my mtb grips and have complete control of my ride.
