As a child, I used to dream about trading in my lame bike for a beautiful 10-speed. I knew that with a 10-speed I would be faster than all the other kids. I could imagine the sweet sound of my bike chain jumping from cog to cog 10 times over. I knew there was no way the other kids could keep up with that. Now that I'm grown and have a trusty companion in my 10 speed, it is just as sweet as I imagined it would be to hear that 10-speed bike chain cruise smoothly over all 10 cogs. So here's to you, 10-speeds.
